National Bravery Award 2016

Sonu Mali was a student of Govt school, Manoharpura, Karauli district. On 21st Sept 2015, a joint class was in progress under a tree in the school and there was a carpet lying behind the class. School boundary was broken hence a black cobra snake came and hide under the carpet.20

At the end of the session, students were asked by teachers to keep the carpet inside but as the student picked up the carpet the cobra came out to attack a student Dharmendra Mali (3 ysr) who was standing close to the snack. All students ran away but Sonu Mali took courage and saved boy from attack of the snack.

For this bravery our NGO & school recognized Sonu Mali and decided to nominate for National Bravery Award hence prepared his all documents and applied for National Bravery Award 2016.

Finally Sonu’s name selected for prestigious National Bravery Award 2017. This recognition was a big relief to his mother as ICCW is now sponsoring education of Sonu Mali. Sonu’s mother Rameshi Devi is now feeling empowered and decided to send her daughter also to school. Karauli district people recognized Sonu and NGO founder Prashant Pal for making this happen for Karauli district.
