Shivani: Empowering women by Scholarships & Tailoring Skills
- Shivani Morya is a talented girl and she is from one of the first batches to join our tailoring classes. She is studying in 11th class at a Govt school, Delhi. She wants to become a fashion designer and she is good in drawing dress design on paper. Originally, she is from a village near Lucknow and her father works as a Gardner in a farm house. Her father earn Rs.7000/- month.
Our team invited her to learn Tailoring and sharpen her fashion designing skills practically. She learnt cutting, stitching very quickly and now she can stitch various ladies clothes. Shivani learnt bag stitching and has been stitching different types of bags after completing her school classes everyday. We found her as a talented girl and started providing her Scholarship for her higher education and other skill trainings.
Shivani said “my parents are not aware about importance of education and it can change our lives too. I requested them to allow me to learn Tailoring skill at PURE India. They happily allowed me to go to NGO as many children are already taking education here. I am very happy that NGO has given us enough time and a good trainer to learn these skills. Now I am able to earn some money by stitching bags to help my family”.
