India is one of the youngest nation in the world with more than 60% of the total population below 30 years of age. India’s workforce is the second largest in the world after China. While China’s demographic dividend is expected to start tapering off by 2015, India will continue to enjoy it till 2040. However, India’s formally skilled workforce is approximately 2% – which is dismally low compared to China (47%), Japan (80%) or South Korea (96%). As per the India Skills report 2015, only 37.22% of surveyed graduates were found employable – 34.26% among male and 37.88% among female.
Asola, Delhi is one of the villages in South Delhi and it has 8-10 nearby other villages. In 2015, we started our first skill development center at Asola, Delhi, where local community girls, boys and elderly have started learning basic & advance computer, Tailoring & fashion designing skills to get employed. Every year more than 200 youth and women are getting skill trainings at the same center, we are also providing employment to 10-15 women & girls who have learnt bag stitching training at our center. We are offering following skill trainings at this center:
Tailoring & Fashion Designing Skill:
There are many families where women & girls are not doing any productive work and they have enough time after finishing their daily work. So we mobilize them and started 6 months of basic and advance skill trainings and eventually get trained for in house production too.
Cloth Bag production:
was started with an intension to provide employment opportunity to poor women in the village itself so that girls learn the basic requirements to work in a production environment and also get some livelihood opportunity to support their family. We have been selling more than 500 bags every month
Computer & Data Entry Operator:
Now a day, computer literacy has become a basic need of any work profile. Hence we have designed a basic and advance computer / data entry operator course as per industry minimum hiring skill requirements.
BPO / Call center executive:
Our founder Prashant Pal has spent 16 years working in BPO industry and we intent to start a Rural BPOs eventually. BPO is a growing industry in India and there is a regular demand of entry level executives hence we provide BPO / call center executive trainings to youth.
