Shashank Kumar is no ordinary athlete. He is an international para-badminton player who has brought pride to our nation, winning a gold medal at the Asian Championship. Shashank who suffered from Polio at the young age of four, is also a silver medalist at the Uganda Para-Badminton international Level-3 in 2022 and a bronze medalist in mixed doubles at the Brazil International Para-Badminton tournament.
Currently ranked 5th in mixed doubles and 15th in men’s singles, Shashank’s grit and determination inspire us all.
As he prepares to represent India at the Asian Para-Badminton Championship 2025, he dreams of flying higher and achieving even greater heights. However, his journey is riddled with challenges. Shashank’s wheelchair, an integral part of his game, is outdated and slowing him down. Competing at the international level requires an advanced sports wheelchair that will enable him to move swiftly, match his competitors, and perform at his peak.
