Rekha | Cloth Shop | Ratlam District, Madhya Pradesh

Rekha Bai, a resident of Kachaliya village in Madhya Pradesh, belongs to a Scheduled Caste (SC) community and lives with a family of five. Earlier, her household depended on daily wage labour and a small piece of farmland, resulting in irregular and limited income. Rekha and her husband aspired to open a cloth shop but lacked the confidence and financial resources to begin. Her journey changed when she attended an entrepreneurship awareness meeting under the AU Udyogini Saksham Project, implemented by Pure India Trust. After profile assessment and one-day EDP training, she received support to start a home-based cloth shop. Today, Rekha earns an average monthly revenue of ₹9,000–₹10,000 with a profit of ₹2,500–₹3,000, enabling her to support her family confidently and look toward a stable future.
