Ms. Rekha, a resident of Uncha Majra village in Gurugram, is a resilient entrepreneur and mother of five children. Her family’s financial situation became extremely difficult when her husband developed a serious kidney illness and was unable to work, leaving them with a monthly household income of only around ₹5,000. Despite these challenges, Rekha remained determined to build a sustainable livelihood for her family.
Recognizing her entrepreneurial spirit, PURE India Trust, with the support of Cvent, helped her establish a grocery store by providing business development support. She also received mentoring on business management, customer service, and business branding, enabling her to manage her enterprise more effectively.
Today, her grocery store generates an average monthly revenue of approximately ₹12,000 and a monthly profit of around ₹11,000. The increased income has improved her family’s financial stability, supported her husband’s medical treatment, ensured her children’s education, and strengthened her confidence as an independent entrepreneur.
