Rukhsana Banno faced tremendous adversity when her husband passed away 12 years ago, leaving her with nothing but two young children, one just 8 months old and the other 3 years old. Over the course of 11 years, she toiled as a laborer, barely scraping by on a meager income of 2,000 rupees. It was during this challenging time that she was approached by PURE India Trust field executive. Initially, Rukhsana found it hard to trust that someone would genuinely help her. However, after persistent efforts, Rukhsana finally mustered the courage to accept the offered assistance. With the support of PURE India Trust and AU Bank, she embarked on a new path, opening a successful general store.
Today, she is earning over Rs.12,000 per month. Notably, her children now attend private school, symbolizing the positive transformation in their lives.
